Ezhil is an Indian film writer, director and producer who works primarily in the Tamil film industry. He made his debut as a writer/director with the 1999 movie Thulladha Manamum Thullum. The movie had Vijay and Simran in the lead. The movie was a big hit and he was instantly elevated to the big leagues. Over the years Ezhil has directed critically and commercially successful movies like Pennin Manathai Thottu (2000), Poovellam Un Vaasam (2001), Deepavali (2007), Manam Kothi Paravai (2012), Desingu Raja (2013) and Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran (2016). His movie Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran was dubbed into Telugu as Premaleela Pelligola (2017).
