Come be a part of BLT`s latest theatre play based on the life of India`s most celebrated painter, one of the 9 gems in Indian painting recognised by the Government of India. This is a Mega Theatre production.
Amrita Sher-Gil was an eminent Indian painter, sometimes known as India`s Frida Kahlo. Sher-Gil`s art has influenced generations of Indian artists, and her depiction of the plight of women has made her art a beacon for women at large both in India and abroad. The Government of India has declared her works as National Art Treasures. In 2006, her painting Village Scene sold for ₹63.9 crores at an auction in New Delhi, which was at the time the highest amount ever paid for a painting in India
This 30-member cast and crew devised a play that dwells deeper into the very psyche of the painter who was in constant search for something new, to represent her inner landscapes.
This visually stunning play will take the audience through a journey of self-discovery, passion, romance, and the painting styles of a young painter who refused to follow the norms set by the traditional rules of social structure
Directed by Ranji David
