About The Event
What is our fascination with Karna? Multiple authors have visited Karna: Vyasa, Kumara Vyasa, Bhasa, Tagore, Dinkar, Shivaji Sawant, Irawati Karve, Kevin McGrath, William Buck, VS Sukhtankar, SL Bhairappa, Chitra Divakaruni Bannerjee, and the Bhil Tribals. Each carries a different perspective of him: hero, victim, outcast, friend, anti-hero, tragic warrior, wounded child, giver, and rebel.
Presented by Mahabharata Dialogues, as part of An Evening with Mahabharata, Ardha-rathi unfolds in two parts. First, an interactive storytelling session explores Karna through the lens of literature, tracing the warrior across classical and modern authors. Then, a gripping theatrical performance takes us into the battlefield of his mind, as he grapples with ten days on the sidelines of Kurukshetra.
