Bhoomija presents a magical performance of music and theatre, Aaroha, helmed by stalwarts like Dr. Mysore Manjunath, S Surendranath, Srinivasa Prabhu and Sri S G Vasudev.
At the centre of the performance is a 20-member youth orchestra conceptualized and conducted by Dr. Manjunath. Apart from popular Indian music compositions, the orchestra plays a couple of outstanding pieces written by Dr. Manjunath, who also plays the lead violin. S Surendranath weaves a beautiful story of love through popular poetry and phrases from plays. Srinivasa Prabhu plays the Sutradhar, narrating the lines in his inimitable style and mastery over Kannada. The show has a splendid backdrop by Sri S G Vasudev. Surendranath has also designed the sets and lighting for the performance.
The orchestra comprises 12 violins and one each of Sarangi, Cello, Flute and Mandolin, and rhythms. All the musicians are under 25 years of age.
