About The Event
Bansuri Jab Gaane Lage is a spectacular Bollywood stage musical that brings to life the extraordinary journey of a wrestler's son who, against all odds, made it his life's mission to conquer his ambition and become India's most renowned flautist of our time, taking the humble bansuri to the world stage. World-renowned flautist Padma Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia's story is what dreams and struggles are made of.
But what makes this musical interesting are the countless anecdotes from his life as a struggling musician, from getting out of his hyper-masculine environment to pursue what he truly wanted to do, music, to his struggles in Mumbai, his search for his guru and her acceptance, his stint working at All India Radio, and many more chapters of his journey. While the world knows him as a classical artist par excellence, not many people know that as a classical musician, he was also one of the most successful music composers in Bollywood, with chartbuster films like Chandni, Lamhe, Darr, Silsila, and many more.
His story is both inspirational and emotional. With live music and live actors, this is one compelling narrative crafted cleverly for theatre, dedicated to the life of a living legend of India. Powerful performances, lilting music performed live, and a story executed smartly on stage come together to make this a memorable experience.
The narrative is beautifully woven with iconic Bollywood chartbusters, songs where Panditji's signature flute interludes have become unforgettable, and films where he has composed the complete musical score.
Come experience an evening of melodies and memories from the 60s, 70s, and 80s, where every note tells a story and every song brings the magic alive.
