About The Event
Harold Pinter’s semi autobiographical play ´Betrayal’ tells the story of an extra-marital affair in a non-linear fashion, the scenes take place in reverse order starting in 1977 and ending in 1968. The three characters are Emma who is married to Robert ( a publisher) but having an affair with Jerry ( a writer) who is her husband’s best friend. She confesses to Robert of her affair with Jerry halfway through the play but Robert continues his professional and amicable relationship with Jerry leading to yet another betrayal: emotional and intellectual. Now nothing can ever be the same again: lives twisted beyond repair.
