About The Event
An attempt has been made to tell the story of the play through Chaaran and Bhatta, one of the oldest mediums of storytelling still seen in many parts of India.
The play begins with 'Pancharatram', where a condition is set to find the Pandavas living in exile in five nights. This is followed by 'Dootvakyam', where Shri Krishna makes a peaceful proposal as a messenger before the war, but Duryodhana rejects it due to his arrogance.
In 'Karnabharam', Karna loses his armour-rings due to Indra's deceit and goes to war without armour. This is followed by 'Dootaghatotkacha', where Ghatotkacha comes as a messenger with Krishna's message to stop the war, but the proposal is turned down.
The play ends with 'Urubhangam', where Duryadhana's Urubhanga by Bhima leads to his self-realisation and ascension. The play concludes with Bharat Vakya, after Charan and Bhatta's epilogue, preaching the value of wisdom.
