The plot gives the audience as insight and tries them to think logically and find the answer themselves. In the play the protagonist takes up her family job of working in the cremation ground of the village because of her unusual job. They throw stones at her. Due to the lack of rain diseases spread in the village. The villagers hold her responsible for the death of their children. They asks her to quit her work but she didnt do that as there was no one to take her place. In the end the villagers abandon her out of the village. She does not get support by even her husband and in the end she is left alone. The play shows how whenever something bad happens instead of finding a steady solution people start blaming unnecessarily. The play also throws light on the plight of the women. How women are never given choice in their life. They are supposed to follow the set rules and norms of the society and if they try to defy those norms they are targeted, blamed and not accepted.
