Dust is a devised theatre performance. Largely physical and experimental in nature, it is inspired by themes and images from the novel The God of Small Things. The work explores the act of repeated returning - of women and men to their homes, to their past and memories, to undesired limitations, to desired lives, and to their history. It foregrounds the transgression of boundaries in love and friendship, and creation of new relationships and identities.
This performance is created by Across The River Collective, a group of theatre-makers and artists from Mexico, India and Australia. We aim to create new theatre work, in a spirit of creative dialogue across our different identities, locations and cultures, to share with audiences everywhere.
