Synopsis
Story 1: THE HERMIT CRAB’S DREAM
This is a retelling of an old Japanese tale. A young hermit crab loses his shell, but manages to find a new one on the beach nearby. Alas, there is another problem for the young crab - he is unable to see any dreams when he sleeps. All his friends share their vivid dreams, but he has none. Join him in his search and help bring his dreams back.
What a sight – the sky is filled with red and violet clouds, mingling with each other, talking to one another, having fun! But it seems like they have forgotten about bringing rain to the earth. This story is a lyrical and touching narration of a cloudy day through a small girl’s eyes, and how she reminds the clouds about raining.
Story 2: FREDERICK
Frederick, a daydreamy field mouse, spends his summer days very differently from his mouse family. As the others work busily night and day to gather nuts, wheat, and straw, Frederick instead gathers sun rays, colours, and words.
The story explores ideas of community work and how we face challenges in life and raises questions about what work is more valuable to survival than others.
