For the first time at the Centre, Marathi spoken word takes the stage as Tape A Tale brings together a colourful selection of stories, moving from laughter to longing, revealing new shades of emotion through poetry and personal storytelling.
Some of our most vivid memories live in the words we use to tell them. In 'Goshtarang,' Tape A Tale brings together a compelling ensemble of storytellers and performers whose Marathi narratives explore love, identity, family, nostalgia and the everyday moments that shape who we are.
The showcase moves between spoken word, poetry and personal narratives, finding humour in the familiar and poignancy in the unexpected. Each story begins with something deeply personal, yet opens onto something universally recognisable – a memory, a relationship, a feeling or a moment that lingers.
Featuring Rutwik Deshpande, Jidnya Sujata, Siddhant Sunil Sawant, Avni Katakkar, Aniket Thakre, and Aakansha Patil, the evening brings together voices with distinct perspectives and styles. From intimate reflections to observations drawn from everyday life, their stories celebrate the richness of Marathi expression and the ability of a well-told story to cross boundaries of language, place and experience.
