HAZRAT-E KRISHNA  is Pierrot’s Troupe’s another unique play: It is probably the first-ever URDU play on the life, times and philosophy of Shri Krishna, performed in the Dastaangoi form; not, however, by just one of two actors but by a host of artists.

So as a Dastaangoi too, it is a welcome break from the tradition.

Another unique feature of the play is the portrayal of “Old Krishna” – the protagonist reflecting upon his life, thoughts, and deeds from his death bed after having been struck by the hunter’s arrow.

In the process, the play re-records more than 100 years of the social, spiritual, cultural and political life of ancient India, marked specially for the Mahabharata.

The play features some of the prominent actors of the country, including Himanshu Srivastava, Aryan Pratap Singh, Jaskiran Chopra, and M Sayeed Alam with Alam portraying the all-important role of Lord Krishna, the old man.

The play has been written by Jaihind Kumar, a self-effacing Hindi poet, and author.

It has been directed by Dr. M Sayeed Alam & Prof Danish Iqbal: The former is reputed for his historical and humorous plays while the latter has written and directed many Dastaangoi performances in the recent past.

Last but not the least, the play is produced by Pierrot’s Troupe - the theatre companies credited with giving several new, original and long-running PLAYS, including  Ghalib In New Delhi, Lal Quile Ka Aakhri Mushaira, K L Saigal, Ghalib,  Chacha Chhakkan In Action, etc.

Artists: Dr M Sayeed Alam, Jaihind Kumar, Prof Danish Iqbal, Jaskiran Chopra,  Aryan Pratap, Aarifa Noori,  Tanay Tarny, Gyanesh Sharma,  Shiva Sood, Chaitanya Puri, Bhoomi Nighat Siraj, Rahul Paswan, Shubham Gaur, Bilal Mir, Hemank Soni, Mrinal Mathur, Punam Butani, Sushila Anand
