About The Event
In a fictional beach town in South India, a theatre company prepares to shut down after 15 years of making plays, singing songs and stories. As a final act for the public they decide to perform an excerpt of Mahabharata, in which Aravan and Krishna, in the form of Mohini, get married on the 17th day of Kurukshetra in Order to save the Pandavas from losing the battle.
On this last day of the theatre, news also reaches that a judgement has been passed by the Supreme court of India, striking down the law that could have allowed marriages between homosexual couples. This affects Jaggu and shakti, two queer men in the troupe looking to promise a union with each other. How do they get married, how does Aravan get married and what happens to the theatre forms the narrative. It`s a light hearted play about heavy hearted issues.
