About The Event
Based on Federico García Lorca's 'The House of Bernarda Alba' – Bilquis Begum enforces an unbelievably long mourning period in her house after her husband's death, effectively caging her five adult daughters from the outside world and any hope of love. Trapped in a pressure-cooker of resentment and suppressed desire, the sisters clash under their mother's tyrannical rule and obsession with family honor.
The only connection to the outside world is Athar, who courts the eldest sister for her money. Adila, the youngest and most passionate, begins a desperate, secret affair with him. What happens when the family members begin suspecting the triangle, all while disclosing their inter personal dynamics forms the rest of the story.
