About The Event
Iti Ninna Amrita is a story of unrequited love between childhood sweethearts, Amrita Nigam and Zulfikar Haider. This tale of love and loss is read out through reams of letters exchanged over 35 years, starting with Amrita`s eighth birthday party in the 1940s, when she first writes to a ten-year-old Zulfi. This epistolary play is directed by Usha Bhandary, an acclaimed actor and theatre teacher.
Iti Ninna Amrita was originally written in Hindi/Urdu by playwright Javed Siddiqui and directed by Feroze Abbas Khan. It has been translated into Kannada by Jayanth Kaikini.
