About The Event
“Jannat Se Jaun Elia”, presented by Harfkaar Foundation, is a dramatic rendition based on Anwar Maqsood’s comic satire of the same name. Originally in the form of a letter written by Jaun from heaven (as imagined by Maqsood Saheb). “Jannat Se Jaun Elia” takes you on a tour of “Koocha-e-sher-o-sukhan”. Koocha-e-sher-o-sukhan is that part of heaven, where all the great poets- right from Mir, Ghalib, Sauda to Iqbal, Faraz, Nasir Kazmi, and others reside. The play not only gives you glimpses of these poets through Jaun’s eyes and his patent “Eliyan” style but does so in an extremely humorous manner as well.
