About The Event
Kaaya is a devised theatre performance inspired by the vachanas of the 12th century feminist poet Akkamahadevi. The work brings together text, movement and music to create visual poetry. The performers use their body and voice to create landscapes that bring to life the spiritual, political and philosophical questions that Akkamahadevi articulated through her vachanas.
