What if the story of one of India’s most iconic schools is not merely a matter of history, but a story of values, imagination and an enduring idea?
Lala Ji Ne School Banaya Hai is an original work of dramatic fiction inspired by the founding of Modern School. It is not a reconstruction of history, but an evocative journey into myth, memory and possibility, imagining how rejection can become resolve, patriotism can find expression through education, and a school can grow into an idea.
Some of India’s greatest minds appear not as historical figures, but as embodiments of the values that shape great education: courage, equality, discipline, excellence, creativity, compassion and freedom.
The performance features acclaimed actor and Modern School alumnus Abhinav Chaturvedi, who made Nanhe from Hum Log unforgettable, and is written by Mrinal Mathur, himself a Modernite and contemporary Indian playwright.
For alumni, educators, parents, students and lovers of theatre, this is an invitation to discover not the history of a school, but the legend of an idea.
Come. Listen. And discover how an idea can shape generations.
