About The Event
Love Letters’ is a popular and much adapted and dramatised piece by A. R. Gurney, originally published in 1989. It features two childhood friends, who exchange their life journeys and their enduring but unfulfilled connection, through letters, over half a century.
The play returns with the two principal actors, Sunit Tandon and Sohaila Kapur who performed it 35 years ago and were perhaps the first to perform it in India, in 1991. The popular Shabana Azmi- Farroukh Sheikh starrer, Tumhari Amrita was adapted from this play. The format also influenced other celebrity productions like Kaifi Aur Main, starring Shabana Azmi & Javed Akhtar and Aapki Soniya, starring Sonali Bendre.
