This is a play that holds a mirror to the society by connecting the past and the present through some fantastic characters and storytelling. The character that occupies Centre stage is that of Mahadev Desai, who happens to be secretary to none other than Mahatma Gandhi! The play is based on a daily diary penned by Mahadevbhai, in which he jotted down his letters to and from Gandhiji, along with banters, conversations and discourses. Written and directed by Ramu Ramanathan and performed and produced by Jaimini Pathak, the play uses humour and lively storytelling to try and understand the thoughts and principles Gandhiji stood for so resolutely – forever more relevant in the modern world. Pathak switches expertly between a host of fascinating characters from the pages of your old history books - Gandhiji, Jawaharlal Nehru, Vallabhbhai Patel and Dr. B R Ambedkar – making the experience a truly unique one.
