About The Event

This experimental play is an effort to trigger introspection, to prompt searching, and to embark on a journey—an inward journey. We call it "Main Hoon Na... (in time & space)." It explores the cycle of life—an inevitable, never-ending quest for "Self" and the "Supreme." Lord Krishna, the epitome of 'being,' is the creator, anchor, and force that resides in each of us. The action is generated through the chosen one—Jara, an ignorant animal hunter, who accidentally kills Lord Krishna and who also happens to be his stepbrother. And so, his journey begins... a running, unconscious journey where he wants to rid himself of Krishna, who haunts him and continues to haunt him through various characters he encounters. Each intermediate character manifests just another aspect of Krishna. Until Jara himself realizes that there is no running away; instead, he must find Krishna and peace. He searches furiously here and there, searching frantically for something, for anything. Circumstances destroy his unconsciousness and open the doors of light. And Jara, not doing anything in particular, just being—it happens! An awakening light gives him immense vision—a universal vision that allows him to see through. He finally solves the puzzle, conquers the truth of life, survives the worst, and lives through the best. The shift of time, flashes where the future merges with the present and the present merges with the past, transforming us into a different time and space, forms the core of the play.
