About The Event

Ganesha keerthanam
This keerthanam is a devotional composition dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the Lord of the Ganas, who is worshipped first and is the giver of auspiciousness and the fulfilment of our heartfelt wishes. He is revered as the elder brother of Lord Guha (Kartikeya) and the son of Lord Shiva, the blue-necked Lord. The keerthanam describes his divine form and virtues, celebrating him as the one who brings joy and protects those who surrender to him. The composition is a loving invocation to Lord Ganesha, seeking his grace, protection, and blessings.

Gale Bhujanga
It is a piece dedicated to Lord Shiva, who wears a snake around his neck, smears his body with bhasma (ash). He holds the Ganga in his matted locks and the crescent moon on his head. He dances the cosmic dance (Tandav), creating and destroying and thus maintaining the balance of the cycle of life and death.

Krishna Nee Begane Baro
Padam is an Abhinay piece which is devotional in nature, where the dancer expresses her love and longing devotion for the deity.

This Padam is about motherly love.

Composed by the 15th-century saint and philosopher Vyasateertha, this Padam is written in Kannada language from the perspective of mother Yashoda calling out to baby Krishna. The first line, “Krishna nee begane baro,” means “Krishna, come quickly.”

Sarasmulade Javali
Javalis are fast-paced expressive love songs, which are secular in nature. They explore themes of romantic yearning, jealousy, and love exclusively through Abhinay.
In this javali, the Nayaka (hero) calls the nayika (heroine) to meet him, but she refuses, fearing being seen by her family and neighbours.

Revati Thillana
Is a concluding piece that celebrates the beautiful geometry of Bharatanatyam and is presented as a concluding piece of a performance. It rises towards the end in its tempo and complexity of rhythm and incorporates rhythmically intricate dancing and footwork.
