Tamil cinema’s well loved comedy drama Panchathanthiram offers a rib tickling ride where the jokes never stop coming. Children’s literary series Panchatantra remains popular to this date. Giving our own twist to the term and reimagining it for the world of theatre, we present our latest production Panchathantra, a collection of five distinct plays. About the five plays:
* A 15-minute adaptation of the 1968 film Thillana Mohanambal which has swept the imagination of viewers for generations, our ‘Iyal Isai Nadagam’ will bind exquisite music, dance and stories as it takes you on a trip down the memory lane.
* Pen’ in Vilai Enna , a one-of-its-kind play, offers a fascinating peep into the life of a ‘pen’.
* An iconoclasm of sorts, A Small Change reinterprets a Shakespearean tale about star crossed lovers by setting it in the backdrop of the 21st century.
* What would happen if gluttony takes over pride in a battle of wits ? 5 men and an intense face off in a game of poker Who triumphs in the end ? Come, see Innoruaatam for yourself. We don’t want to give the game away just yet!
* Much like stories about the hunter becoming the hunted and predator becoming the prey, Smart Robbery is about a group of robbers trapped in a smart house, struggling to find their way out.
