'Life is like a railway platform. People come and go all the time, but the ones that wait or don't for the same train are somehow part of your story.'
Platform No. 8 is an amalgamation of several stories by 'Writer on the Hill - Mr. Ruskin Bond' and these stories carry the essence of our childhood. The play wraps and un-wraps the twists and turns in the life of an orphan, Rishi, from childhood to adulthood which in no way is less than a roller-coaster ride. The play touches several aspects of our lives and tries to compare and draw a parallel between them. The question of survival in the so called advanced and civilized society provokes Rishi to turn to unfair means and strengthen his chances of survival in this cruel world. The struggle continues and the only question that remains is whether he wins or loses in the game of life.
