Katha Ek Kans Ki by Eklavya Sanskritik Samiti: The 'King of Mathuraa' is a reinterpretation of a well-known Indian mythological tale in contemporary theatrical idiom. King Kans of Mathuraa has been portrayed as a dictator, who is no different from modern-day dictators like Hitler, Stalin, Mao Tse-tung, etc. Thus, King Kans' story is the story of all the dictators who appear on the world stage, from time to time, in different countries. In effect, this play becomes a clinical analysis of the phenomena of dictatorship, shaped into a play to entertain and enlighten contemporary theatre audiences.
