There lived a blind man Surdas, in the town of Pandapur of the city Benaras. He used to beg to make his ends meet. He owned a piece of land that as used by the villagers for various purposes as well as cattle grazing. Mr. John Sewak is a British businessman. John Sewak used to rebuke Surdas for begging but when he learned that Surdas was the owner of a lovely piece of land his attitude changed. He gave various offers to Surdas to sell his land, but Surdas did not agree. Then John Sewak plays tricks to acquire the land. John Sewak’s daughter Sophia, is a kind-hearted girl and does not approve of the methods her father is trying to use. She convinces her brother Prabhu to help Surdas. On John Sewak’s request the King, Rajasaheb issues eviction orders to Surdas. When Surdas protests against it, he is shot dead.
