About The Event
Sangeetha Payithiyam is a musical comedy, originally written by Pammal Sammandha Mudaliar, considered the father of modern Tamil drama. The play humorously highlights the repercussions of a crazy decree forced on the people by an eccentric ruler. Shraddha`s adaptation highlights how the core of the play is still relevant to current times and appeals to all ages. In the dozen shows we have staged so far, the play has had specific appeal for children.
