Sanjhaa– Vivaah Shikhandi Ka
A play based on a true story and the work of Dr. Kiran Singh
Sanjha always knew something was off, but no one ever spoke of it. They dressed her, named her, even married her off, hoping the questions would disappear into routine. But what was hidden at birth begins to rise— slow, silent, and unstoppable.
Trapped between body and identity, silence and scream, Sanjhaa– Vivaah Shikhandi Ka tells the story of a transgender woman navigating the tender confusions of marriage, the weight of family expectations, and the quiet fire of self-discovery. Inspired by the twilight hour “sanjhaa” and the myth of Shikhandi, this performance unfolds in the space between day and night, between who she was told to be and who she truly is.
Through intimate storytelling, striking physicality, and raw emotional depth, Sanjhaa is not just a coming out — it’s a coming home.
Presented in celebration of Pride Month, this play is a tribute to the courage it takes to live one’s truth — and the beauty of embracing every shade of identity.
A mirror. A rebellion. A voice was finally heard.
