Maaya Jaathre is a singular theatrical experience — a celebration cloaked in secrets, a spectacle woven with illusion, and a narrative expressed through symbols, silences, and sudden, breathtaking moments of wonder.
Inspired by the vibrant energy of Karnataka’s village fairs, this is not merely a show — it is a living, breathing journey. It dances before you, draws you in, and blurs the boundaries between the performer and the spectator, between what is real and what merely appears to be.
At the center of this enigmatic world stands Maayavi, the conjuror of stories, embodied by illusionist Sathwik Gupta. Known for his contemporary flair and mentalist craft — often seen in casual hoodies and SnapBacks — Sathwik now steps into an altogether different avatar. With Maaya Jaathre, he transforms into a rooted, theatrical presence, channelling tradition through the lens of magic.
Maayavi is not a single figure, but many. Across the performance, he morphs and multiplies, giving life to a spectrum of characters. Through each transformation, he stitches together tales from the past and present, immersing the audience deeper into the spellbinding world of the Jaathre.
Though the show is performed in Kannada, its essence is universal. Because wonder transcends language. Awe, curiosity, and the joy of discovery are emotions that speak across generations, cultures, and tongues.
Maaya Jaathre welcomes everyone — children and adults, cynics and believers, the curious and the cautious. No matter who you are, there is something here waiting for you.
Come for the celebration. Stay for the questions.
And leave… changed.
Because Maaya Jaathre is not your usual magic show. It is a festival of the unseen.
A theatrical mystery.
A portal to something deeper.
Maaya Jaathre — Where celebration meets illusion, and wonder finds its way in.
