About The Event
Three Hearings on the Existence of Snakes in the Human Bloodstream is an interactive, thought-provoking and entertaining theatrical production designed to recall the spirit of questioning. An adaptation of the science-fiction story by James Alan Gardner, this ensemble piece is a fantastical historical account of how otherness is manufactured, and how differences between human beings are wilfully magnified, preserved and even worshipped. The audiences questions become a part of the performance, as do the actors own reflections and associations.
It is a story of the human race in a parallel universe not so very different from our own. The production has music, song, movement, audio-visual elements and textual highlights. There is humor, dark humor and breaks in the narrative for observation, association and juxtaposition, addressing the personal, the political and the philosophical all in one big cultural experience.
This production received support from India Foundation for the Arts, under its Arts Practice programme.
This play is going to be a wonderful experience.
