About The Event
Shakuni is not a retelling of the Mahabharata. It is a contemporary theatrical exploration of one of the epic's most debated and misunderstood characters. Rather than defending Shakuni or rewriting history, the production investigates the circumstances that transformed an innocent prince of Gandhar into the man history remembers as its greatest strategist and conspirator.
The play begins after the Mahabharata war. An aged Shakuni stands alone, holding the dice that have defined his destiny. He does not plead for innocence. Instead, he poses a disarming question.
