About The Event
Emperor Shah Jahan invites the chief engineer of CPWD, Guptaji, and shares his dream of building a monument in memory of his late wife, Mumtaz. After much deliberation, he decided on a mausoleum named the Taj Mahal. Guptaji, a shrewd, corrupt official, entangles the emperor in bureaucratic red tape, leading to hilarious situations. The ridiculous bureaucratic procedures take 25 years to float the tender notice for the Taj Mahal. "Taj Mahal ka Tender" is a successful satire in contemporary Indian times, a milestone production of the Repertory Company, running to full houses for the past 25 years.
