This session, we feature Shernaz Patel.
Shernaz Patel is a celebrated theatre and film actor, and a key figure in Mumbai’s theatre scene. She has been a part of long-running plays such as Love Letters and Class of ’84 and is the co-founder of Rage Productions, along with Rajit Kapur and Rahul Da Cunha. Rage has been instrumental in promoting new Indian writing, most importantly through their Writer's Bloc programme, in collaboration with Royal Court Theatre from London. Shernaz carries a rich legacy of theatre through her parents Ruby and Burjor Patel, both highly popular Gujarati theatre veterans.
Sunil Shanbag is a theatre director, co-founder of Arpana Theatre and Tamaasha Theatre. His 50-year career spans genres, themes and mediums. He won the 2017 Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Direction, and is involved with training and mentoring young theatremakers.
