Originally written by Ajay Shukla in Hindi "Tajmahal Ka Tender," is translated into Kannada by Mahesh Pallakki, is a satirical comedy that cleverly critiques the deep-rooted corruption in government institutions. Set against the backdrop of Karnataka, the play reimagines the legendary Mughal emperor Shah Jahan as a modern-day billionaire who undertakes the grand project of building the Taj Mahal.
However, the project is quickly entangled in bureaucratic red tape and corruption. Sathyamurthy, the Karnataka state`s Chief Engineer, seizes the opportunity to advance his personal gains rather than the project itself. Through humorous and biting dialogues, the play exposes the inefficiencies and greed that plague government offices, serving as a commentary on the "kaaryanga" of the Indian Constitution.
A brilliant mix of satire and wit, "TENDER WONDER..Etc..Etc" Directed by Karthru Girish, offers an entertaining yet thought-provoking look at the intersection of power, politics, and corruption in contemporary society.
