The Goat, or Who is Sylvia? is a triple Pulitzer Prize-winner Edward Albee’s acclaimed play about a married, middle-aged architect who falls in a love affair. Martin is at the pinnacle of life: he has a loving wife and son, a hugely successful career as an architect, and the commission of a lifetime, but when he embarks upon an improbable and impossible love affair from which there is no return, he must face the dizzying, explosive consequences.
Known for works such as Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Albee’s four-hander not only shows a family in crisis, but also challenges taboos and moral judgement. A Delhi-Bangalore based theatre group, Alchemy tackles this marital family drama which won the 2002 Tony Award for Best Play and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play and was a finalist for the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
