'The Jungle Book' is a theatrical adaptation by Mahima Kaur, based on the novel, of the same name by Rudyard Kipling. It is an age old, oft read and discussed novel of your childhood. The story retells the tale and the play is complete with drama, action, comedy, music and dance. It follows the conflict of the man cub in search for his identity, leading to the final question, when to run through the forest or work on land.
The play is performed by forty children from across Delhi and NCR. It is the culmination of six months of learning where children understood the elements of dance and drama. They received generous exposure to literature, developed the skill to work diligently and conscientiously and imbibed the qualities of persistence, dedication and teamwork. Through this project-based participation, the children created the entire show themselves communicating, planning, researching, collaborating and designing their costumes and props. The final result is a rich tableau and more.
