Get ready to be charmed by an inventive storytelling showcase from Sheena Khalid, where the act of waiting in line transforms into a warm, humorous, and gently moving meditation on life, told through stories, movement, and music.
Bringing together some of Mumbai’s finest voices from storytelling, theatre, and film, The Queues offers a unique, relatable, and quietly moving slice-of-life experience. Concept by Roshan Abbas and Stories, Curated, Edited and directed by Sheena Khalid, this storytelling weaves movement and music into its narrative fabric, promising an engaging and memorable evening.
Inspired by the little stories we live while waiting in lines, the showcase celebrates those fleeting moments often overlooked. The show explores the emotional and comedic highs of standing still, even as life whirls around us. Standing in line becomes a metaphor for the things we wait for, the opportunities we miss, and the unexpected outcomes that arise from patience and anticipation. Starting at the end of the line and getting to the front is an exercise in realizing we were waiting for something completely different. Featuring a rotating lineup of performers including Amrita Saluja, Meghana AT, Shruti Vyas, Rutwik Deshpande, Santanu Ghatak and Shikha Talsania, The Queues blends storytelling, theatre, and film in a performance that is playful, poignant, and deeply relatable. Audiences are invited to pause, observe, and find meaning in the small, everyday moments we usually rush past, discovering that even in waiting, there is a story worth telling.
