About The Event
The story is set against the backdrop of the India–Pakistan Partition of 1947. In the aftermath of political separation, many people were forced to relocate and uproot their lives. There was widespread chaos and confusion about what constituted Indian territory and what belonged to the newly formed Pakistan.
The situation was even worse for patients, especially those in mental institutions. Once the two countries held talks regarding their situation, it was decided that Muslim patients would stay in or move to Pakistan, while their Hindu and Sikh counterparts would move to India.
