About The Event
Saadat Hasan Manto`s famous short-story is set in post-1947 when India & Pakistan decide to exchange their mental asylum inmates on religious basis. As this news breaks inside a mental asylum in Lahore, what follows is funny and absurd. The inmates ask all the right and relevant questions, but they are mentally unstable, certified so by the outside world. One of the inmates, Bishen Singh, is seeking the `current` whereabouts of his native place called, Toba Tek Singh. But nobody knows; not even the God! On the day of exchange he refuses to budge, till he gets a clear answer. What follows leaves both the countries stunned!
