Short+Sweet Theatre is the biggest festival of ten-minute theatre in the world, which started in Australia in 2002, and is now held annually in 7 different countries across 30 cities, including Chennai.
This 8th edition of Short + Sweet South India is a collaborative effort by Prakriti Foundation and The Blu Lotus Foundation, in association with the Alliance Française of Madras.
Each show comprises 9-10 ten-minute plays, with an interval.
Short+Sweet South India aims to provide a platform for actors, writers and directors to create high-quality professional theatre in a collaborative environment where established practitioners co-exist with amateur theatre enthusiasts. In the form of new short pieces, the festival develops new audiences for Indian theatre and encourages people to write for the stage, thus helping to foster new playwrights and artists in the country.
