Chhalawa takes you through the possibility of a harsh reality in our contemporary society where Sati as a social evil still exists. Set in a small village of Rajasthan, this thrilling adaptation of Shakespeare's Hamlet starts on the note where Sati is finally abolished from this village.
However soon after the untimely death of the head of the village, his son Raghuveer finds out the presence of an incestious relationship between his mother and his uncle, who now heads the village too.
As the drama heightens in a village now run by a corrupt man who starts the practise of Sati again secretly; Raghuveer has to find salvation through the revenge of his father's death.
