Here are a few things the parents need to know.
Description:
When children attend LAN events, it is common for them to forget or neglect their hygiene, rest, and food needs. We, therefore, ask you as parents to inform your children about the consequences this might have. Children should come to the show clean and well-rested. If your child is sick, it is recommended that they stay home to prevent spreading illness. Likewise, children should wash hands after touching controllers, keyboards, etc. and before eating. It is important to sleep properly. Two hours per night is not enough for the body to stay healthy. It is important to stay well hydrated, drinking water rather than soft drinks. They will feel better if they avoid liquids with sugar or caffeine.
Remind your child to bring medication and documentation with them, including the contact details of a legal guardian in case a serious situation arises. A good tip is to add a number for a contact person in your child’s mobile phone that can help with medical decisions in case of an emergency. This should be highlighted in the phone’s contact list with the name of the contact beginning with the letters ICE (short for In Case of Emergency). For example, the home number could be called “ICE Mom”. This makes it easy for healthcare professionals to quickly find the best contact. This system is used in many countries around the world and is an effective tool that is completely free!
