Show title: Celestial Fireworks
Brief about the show:
The Earth and the sky appear to be quite unchanging. The show reveals that the quiet sky, however, is a wonderful mask that covers a wide range of violent activities that the universe harbours. Meteors burning up and meteorites creating craters on the earth, howsoever infrequent, often go unnoticed. It also deals with a variety of explosions and implosions that punctuate the quiet existence!
Different final stages in the life cycle of stars, dictated by mass of the star as well as its core, such as white dwarf, formation of Supernovae, Neutron stars, pulsars and ultimately Black Holes are discussed with high resolution images and videos. Gravitational waves that were detected in 2016 for which Indian scientific community has also contributed significantly, is discussed in the show. The ultimate celestial firework that launched the cosmos, namely, the Big Bang too is included.
