About The Event
Mumbai was once home to two thriving Jewish communities - the Bene Israel, the descendants of Jewish sailors who were shipwrecked near the city two millennia ago, and the Baghdadi Jews, who were trading with western India for centuries and settled here almost two centuries ago. While both communities have dwindled in the city, thanks to migration, their legacies still exist. On our #ShalomMumbai tour, we take you through Mumbais glorious Jewish past and tell you tales of the two communities and other Jews who made Mumbai their home.
