Overview
The Velas Turtle Festival is a unique conservation initiative where villagers protect Olive Ridley eggs. Mumbai Travel Club takes you to this quiet hamlet to witness the tiny hatchlings emerge from their nests and march into the Arabian Sea. Beyond the turtles, you’ll experience a traditional Konkani lifestyle, staying in local homes and enjoying authentic "Popti" or home-cooked veg/non-veg meals. It’s a slow-paced, soul-soothing journey through the heart of coastal Maharashtra.

Participants are requested to be present at least 10 minutes before the reporting time to avoid any delays.
For Self-Drive Participants:
Those travelling in their own vehicles must reach Kalamboli McDonald’s by 11:40 PM. From this point onward, you will follow our vehicle to the base village location. Kindly ensure punctuality so the convoy can proceed together.
Day 1 – AC Bus Pickup Schedule
09:00 PM – Borivali (SGNP Gate)
09:20 PM – Goregaon (Pathanwadi, Oberoi Mall)
09:35 PM – Andheri (Start of Andheri Flyover)
09:50 PM – Bandra (Kala Nagar)
10:15 PM – Sion (Station Gate)
10:35 PM – Chembur (Chhatrapati Shivaji Statue)
11:00 PM – Vashi (Opposite Central Mall)
11:30 PM – Kharghar (Hotel Three Star)

Kindly be at your respective pickup point before the scheduled time.
Day 2 – Arrival at Velas & Festival Experience
We are expected to reach Velas around 05:00 AM. Upon arrival at the homestay in Velas village, you will get about an hour to relax and freshen up.
At 06:00 AM, we will proceed to Velas Beach for turtle sighting.
After returning, breakfast will be served at the homestay. Post breakfast, we will visit Bankot Fort to explore a glimpse of the region’s history and scenic coastal views.
Later, we return to the homestay for a wholesome and authentic local lunch. The afternoon is free for rest and relaxation.
In the evening around 5:00 PM, we will head back to Velas Beach to experience the vibrant Turtle Festival atmosphere. Enjoy beachside activities, fun games, and beautiful coastal views.
Spend some peaceful moments witnessing the sunset before returning to the homestay for dinner.
After dinner, we will take a calm and refreshing night walk along the beach under the starry sky.
Day 3 – Beach Visit & Return Journey
Wake-up call will be at 05:00 AM.
At 06:00 AM, we will once again visit Velas Beach for the Turtle Festival experience.
After breakfast, we will check out from the homestay and begin our onward journey towards Harihareshwar by ferry.
We will visit Harihareshwar Temple and Beach, followed by a lunch halt (please note: this lunch is not included in the tour charges).
Post lunch, we will bid farewell to Velas and start our return journey to Mumbai around 03:00 PM.
Arrival in Mumbai is expected approximately by 09:30 PM, depending on traffic conditions.
