Aamir Bashir is an Indian actor, director and producer who works mainly in Bollywood. He made his showbiz debut with a minor role in the television series Bhanwar, and subsequently appeared in several commercials before making his feature film debut with Split Wide Open (1999). Aamir has since appeared in films like A Wednesday (2008), Raat Gayi, Baat Gayi? (2009), Peepli (Live) (2010), Haider (2014) and the 2017 neo-noir thriller Gurgaon. In 2018, Aamir starred alongside Naseeruddin Shah and Sonali Kulkarni in the comedy-drama film Hope Aur Hum, which was written and directed by Sudip Bandyopadhyay.

In 2010, he made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed Urdu film Harud, which he also wrote and produced. Besides winning the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Urdu, Harud also won the Don Quixote Award at the Fribourg International Film Festival that year. Notable among Aamir's television credits are Antaral, Rishtey and Private Investigator.
