Penupatruni Adinarayana Rao (Rao) a.k.a. P. Adinarayana Rao, was a Telugu music director, film producer, lyricist and play writer, born on November 30, 1915, in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, India. in 1948, he married a popular Telugu actress, Anjali Devi and they had two sons. He started his film career, as a child artiste at the age of six. He learnt classical music and started playing various musical instruments at the of 12. In 1946, he entered the film industry as a lyricst and music composer of the film, Varudhini. Rao had also produced several movies such as Maayalamaari, Pardesi, Annadata, Suvarna Sundari, Phoolon Ki Sej, Bhakta Tukaram, etc. He also worked as a music director for many films like Golla Bhama, Palletoori Pilla, Annadata, Anarkali, Adutha Veetu Penn, Runanubandham and Chandipriya, to name a few.
