She played the lead role of Christy Plunkett in the American TV series Mom. Her 2017 movie venture includes The Emoji Movie, an American 3D computer-animated comedy film, under the direction of Tony Leondis, in which Faris voices for the character of Jailbreak, a codebreaker emoji.
