A popular Malayalam poet, lyricist and actor, Balachandran Chullikkad is a National Film Award winner; the won the National Film Award for Best Non-Feature Film Narration/Voice Over for his work in i18 Elephants - 3 Monologues. The multitalented artist's notable film credits as an actor includes Rappakal (2005), Parunthu (2008), Three Kings (2011), Mr. Fraud (2014), Action Hero Biju (2016), and Welcome to Central Jail (2016). His 2017 release includes Kaaliyan, an action drama directed by Jijo Pancode. Apart from acting in films, Balachandran has also starred in several TV series' including Meera, Mizhi Thurakkumo, Chila nerangalil chila manushyar, and Seetha. His 2017 release includes the Malayalam language comedy Vishwa Vikyatharaya Payyanmar. Directed by Rajesh Kannankara, the movie stars Deepak Parambol, Aju Varghese, Manoj K. Jayan, and Hareesh Kanaran in the lead.
