About
Filmmaker, producer and screenwriter Brad Peyton is primarily known for directing the sci-fi comedy adventure film Journey 2: The Mysterious Island (2012) and the disaster film San Andreas (2015), both of which starred Dwayne Johnson in the lead role and turned out to be box office blockbusters despite the mixed reviews. Peyton first rose to prominence in 2003, when his black comedy short film Evelyn: The Cutest Evil Dead Girl was nominated for the Genie Award for Best Live Action Short Drama.

After working extensively on television and short films, he eventually forayed into cinema with the spy comedy Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore (2010), which turned out to be both a critical and commercial failure. This was followed by Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, which grossed over $335 million at the box office against a budget of $79 million. This was also the first of many recurring collaborations between the Payton and Johnson. The supernatural horror film Incarnate (2016) and the sci-fi monster film Rampage (2018) are among Peyton's notable directorial credits in recent times.
